Let us inform that the Ministry of Road and Transport had issued a notification to make vehicle registration contactless and paperless. According to this notification, the registration of new vehicles in Maharashtra has now been made paperless and cropped. That is, now those who buy a new vehicle will not have to do any kind of paperwork and all the process will be done in digital form.
Under the new rule, the documents required for the registration of the vehicle are being accepted in digital form. In this, the depositor and the dealer have to digitally sign (e-sign) the application. Vehicle registration number is generated through auto generation without any delay. The new rule has reduced the time taken for registration of a vehicle.
FADA President Vinkesh Gulati said, “FADA aims to implement faceless and paperless registration in all states. Vehicle buying process has now become easier in Maharashtra.”
He thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Bal Thackeray for taking this bold decision and making the state’s vehicle registration digital friendly. Apart from this, this initiative of the government will also help the automobile dealer fraternity as they will be able to leverage technology, which will make them easier to do business.
FADA Maharashtra has worked tirelessly along with the state transport department in making the vehicle registration process faceless and paperless, the statement said. FADA Maharashtra State President Amar Jatin Sheth said, “FADA is happy about this development. We have always advocated the need for a faceless and paperless registration process.”
