According to a news agency, Union Minister Jitendra Singh will hold a ministerial meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of UAE, Foreign Minister of Bahrain and New Technology Minister of Israel. The focus of these meetings will be to promote space diplomacy and international co-operation. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he will hold talks with UAE Minister of State for New Technology Sarah Al Amiri and Chairman of UAE Space Agency to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral space cooperation between the two countries.
UAE working on many space missions
In 2016, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the UAE Space Agency (UAESA) signed an MoU for mutual cooperation and exploration of outer space for peaceful purposes. Under this, recently UAE’s Nanosatellite – Nayak-1 was launched from Sriharikota with the help of Indian Launcher PSLV. In July 2020, the UAE launched its Mars mission named Hope Probe, which entered Mars orbit in February 2021. The UAE is the first Arab country and the sixth country in the world to launch a Mars mission. According to the agency report, UAE is planning to launch Rashid Rover or Emirates Lunar Mission.
Relations between India and UAE
The relationship between the two countries has been elevated to a strategic partnership in 2017 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. India and UAE signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement earlier this year and they intend to take bilateral trade to USD 100 billion from the current USD 72 billion in the next five years.
