Odisha: Multiple rape victim attempts self-immolation in court
Seeking justice, a 30-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped multiple times, tried to set herself ablaze inside a court complex in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday, but was saved by an alert officer. Police said that the incident took place in the court of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) in Berhampur. Police said that as soon as the woman poured kerosene on herself, constable Rashmi Ranjan Das, who was on security duty, saved her by stopping her from doing so. (Language)
