A very shocking case has come to light in Hassan district of Karnataka where a husband slit his wife’s throat in the local court premises on Saturday. The accused husband not only tried to kill his wife but also the girl child but the local people saved the life of the girl and handed over the accused to the police.

The deceased has been identified as Chaitra resident of Thattekere village and accused husband of the woman Shivakumar is a resident of Holenarasipura taluk. The two were married seven years ago and both have a child together. During the hearing, the judge asked the couple to withdraw the divorce petition for the future of the child and settle the matter amicably. The counseling of both lasted for hours after which both of them decided to withdraw the divorce application and agreed to live together.

When the wife started leaving for the washroom, the accused husband started following her and slit her throat with a knife from behind, injuring her seriously. The accused husband later tried to kill the girl as well but the people present there saved the girl’s life and handed the accused over to the police. The victim died on the way to the district hospital in Hassan. The police have registered a case against the accused under section 302.
