Apple to boost iPhone manufacturing: Apple wants to increase iPhone production in India by 5 times. The company wants to bring the production to around 40 billion dollars i.e. around Rs 3.32 lakh crore in the next 4 to 5 years. PTI has shared this information quoting government sources. According to the report, the company has crossed the production of $7 billion in the last financial year. Let us tell you, at present the company produces only iPhone in India. This time the company has also created a new record and sold Made in India iPhones on the very first day of sale of iPhone 15 series in India.
This gadget will also be made in India from next year
Apple is also planning to make AirPods in India from next year. Currently, the company is manufacturing iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in India. The new series is being produced at Apple’s plant near Chennai.
In the financial year ending September 25, 2022, the company sold iPhones and wearables worth $191 billion globally, while the company sold products worth $38.36 billion in the home and accessories segment. Apple has reported a decline of nearly 4 percent in iPhone sales to $ 156.77 billion in the first nine months of the current financial year, while the wearable, home and accessories segment saw a marginal decline of $ 30.52 billion.
Apple reached the top leaving Samsung behind
Apple has become India’s number 1 company in terms of smartphone exports. Leaving the Korean company behind, Apple has shipped 49% of the total smartphone exports in the June 2023 quarter while Samsung has shipped 45%. Between April and June, India sent a total of 12 million smartphones abroad which is less than the previous quarter but Apple has won this time. The reason for this achievement of the company is the promotion given to local manufacturing. Recently, the news was also revealed that on the day of launch on Friday, there has been a 100 percent increase in the sales of Apple’s iPhone 15 series as compared to the iPhone 14 series.
