Apart from watching videos on YouTube, now you will be able to play games and download apps. The tension of downloading apps is over.

YouTube Playables Feature: Google’s video streaming platform YouTube is testing a new feature that will allow viewers to play games on the platform without downloading and installing them. The company is working on a feature called Playables. In September, the company had announced that viewers will be able to play HTML5 based games on the platform on both mobile and desktop. Currently this feature is available for some limited users. The company has attached a new feature called Playables to the home feed. A new feature of the company has been spotted in a report by Android Authority, whose screenshot we are sharing here.

You will be able to play all these games

Under the new feature, you can play 8 Ball Billiards Classic, Angry Birds Showdown, Basketball FRVR, Brain Out, Canon Balls 3D, Carrom Clash, Color Burst 3D, Color Pixel Art, Crazy Caves, Cube Tower, Daily Crossword, Daily Solitaire, Scooter Extreme, Stack Bounce and State.io are included. Most of these games are mobile centric but the company has said that users can play them on desktop also. According to the leaked image, the company will test this feature till March next year. This means that the new Playables feature can be launched in the middle of 2024.

Will be able to turn off if you don’t like it

YouTube says users can find ‘Playables’ by scrolling down on their home screen or “via the Playables link in the Explore menu.” There is also an option to turn off this feature if you are not interested in watching the game on the video-sharing platform. That means you can also turn off the option of playables. At present Google has not shared any information about when Playables will be launched. It is possible that the company may limit it to YouTube Premium subscribers only.
