Will Babar Azam do a U-turn on captaincy again? Big update on reshuffle in Pakistan cricket

U turn of Babar Azam’s captaincy: There is an uproar in the Pakistan Cricket Board since the ODI World Cup 2023. There were many changes in the board after the World Cup. Apart from this, the then team captain Babar Azam had resigned. But now in the reports it is being claimed that Babar Azam can once again become the captain of Pakistan cricket team.

Recently there was a change in the chairmanship of Pakistan Cricket Board. Mohsin Naqvi has been made the new chairman, after which there may be a change in the captaincy of the team once again. After poor performance in the World Cup 2023, Babar stepped down from the post of captaincy and then the Pakistan team adopted split captaincy. Shan Masood was given the command of the team for Test and Shaheen Shah Afridi for T20 International.

Both Masood and Shaheen failed in their respective initial assignments. The Pakistan team, captained by Masood, lost the three-match Test series played in Australia 3-0. After this, the Pakistan team played a series of 5 T20 matches on New Zealand soil under the captaincy of Shaheen Afridi, in which they had to face a crushing defeat of 4-1.

Now according to the reports running in Pakistan media, Babar Azam can once again make a U-turn on the post of captaincy. Before Masood and Shaheen, Babar was the regular captain of Pakistan in all three formats. The new chairman of the board wants to make many changes, which may also include the captaincy of the team. Now it will be interesting to see whether there really is a change in the captaincy of Pakistan cricket team once again or not. At present, Babar is playing as a player in the team.
