ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: So far 6 matches have been played in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Two matches are to be played today i.e. Tuesday, October 10. The first match between Bangladesh and England will start at 10:30 am in Dharamshala. Whereas, the second match will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka from 2 pm in Hyderabad.
As the World Cup is progressing, its excitement is also increasing. Let us tell you the status of the points table so far in this ICC ODI World Cup. So far, the teams of New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh are present in the top-4 in the points table. The New Zealand team, after winning both its opening matches, remains at number-1 with 4 points and a net run rate of +1.958.
Indian team present at number five
At second place is the South African team, which won the match against Sri Lanka by making the highest score in ODI World Cup history, and along with 2 points, also achieved an excellent net run rate of +2.040. At third place is Pakistan team, which had won 2 points by winning the first match against Netherlands, now today Pakistan’s second match is to be played with Sri Lanka. Bangladesh team is at fourth place in this list, which had scored 2 points by defeating Afghanistan in its first match. Today Bangladesh’s second match will be played against England.
India is currently placed fifth in the World Cup points table, having defeated Australia in its first match and achieving 2 points and a net run rate of +0.883. At the same time, just after India, Australia is at sixth position, whose account has not yet been opened in the points table, but the net run rate is better than other teams.
After these, the teams of Afghanistan, Netherlands and Sri Lanka are present at seventh, eighth and ninth positions with zero points respectively. Whereas, at the last i.e. tenth place, the team which is considered to be a strong contender to win this World Cup and is the current champion team, is England, who had lost their first match badly against New Zealand, hence their net run rate became the worst.
