Pat Cummins on Ahmedabad pitch: Before the World Cup 2023 final match, Australian team captain Pat Cummins has given detailed answers to the questions asked about the Ahmedabad pitch. In the pre-match press conference, he told that he is not expert in reading the pitch well but he sees this wicket fine. He also said that the toss will not matter much on this pitch.
Pat Cummins said, ‘I have seen the pitch recently. Let me first say that I am not a good pitch reader but this pitch looked solid. Only water has been given on it. Just give it 24 hours, after that the nature of the pitch will become clear. Well, it looks like a good wicket. After this, Pat Cummins said, ‘I think compared to all the other venues of the World Cup, the toss here will not matter that much. We will be ready to face every situation here.
Pat Cummins also answered in detail the question related to the challenges faced in bowling on Indian pitches. He said, ‘You have to be brave to bowl certain types of balls here. You have to strike a balance between bowling slower balls and bouncers. Till now we have maintained a good balance of mixing different types of balls in our bowling. We have also seen on Indian pitches that the cutter ball does as much work here at the end of the innings as it does nowhere else in the world.
World Cup final is in Ahmedabad
The World Cup final match between India and Australia is to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. So far there have been four matches in this World Cup. All four have been day-night matches. In three of these, the run chasing teams got easy victories. In one match, the team batting first won by a close margin.
