MI Cape Town: Mumbai Indians have appointed Robin Pietersen as the coach of their team MI Cape Town in the South African T20 League. At the same time, Mumbai Indians have assigned the responsibility of bowling coach to their former legendary bowler Lasith Malinga. Earlier, Robin Pietersen was the general manager of MI Cape Town in the South African League 2023. After this, when the first season of Masters League cricket was played in America, Robin Pietersen was the head coach and Lasith Malinga was the bowling coach. MI New York won the first season of Masters League Cricket. Apart from this, Hashim Amla will remain the batting coach of MI Cape Town.

Actually, both Lasith Malinga and Robin Pietersen have played for Mumbai Indians in IPL. Lasith Malinga was associated with the team from the first edition of IPL till IPL 2019. However, no team bid for Lasith Malinga in IPL auction 2018. After which Mumbai Indians added Lasith Malinga as their coach. However, in the next year i.e. IPL 2019, Lasith Malinga again joined Mumbai Indians as a player. In the IPL 2019 final, Lasith Malinga gave a memorable victory to Mumbai Indians on the last ball.
