BAN vs NZ: Bangladesh’s historic win, defeats New Zealand in its own home T20 for the first time

Historic victory of Bangladesh: Bangladesh has surprised once again in cricket. Bangladesh has registered a spectacular victory in the very first T20 match of its New Zealand tour. In the first match of the three-match T20 series, the Bangladeshi team defeated the Kiwis by 5 wickets. This is the first time that Bangladesh defeated New Zealand in a T20 match at home. Mehdi Hasan was the hero of this historic victory. His all-round performance led the Bangladesh team to victory.

In this match played in Napier, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first. New Zealand had a very bad start here. Three wickets of the Kiwi team fell on the score of just one run. Mehdi Hasan sent Tim Seifert (0) to the pavilion in the very first over. In the very next over, Shoriful Islam dismissed Finn Allen (1) and Glenn Phillips (0) in back to back balls.

Neesham’s innings got a respectable score
After this bad start, Daryl Mitchell (14) and Mark Chapman (19) tried to save New Zealand to some extent but both of them could not play big innings. After this, James Neesham scored 48 runs in 29 balls and helped the Kiwi team to reach a respectable score. Mitchell Santner (23) and Adam Milne (16) also supported him well. In this way, in the stipulated 20 overs, the New Zealand team was able to score 134 runs after losing 9 wickets. For Bangladesh, Shoriful took three wickets, Mehdi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets each and Tanzeem and Rishad took one wicket each.

Liton Das stood firm
Chasing the target of 135 runs, Bangladesh lost the wicket of Ronnie Talukdar (10) for a total of 13 runs. Captain Shanto (19) also walked out on a total of 38 runs. Bangladesh certainly lost wickets at regular intervals but kept moving towards its target with aplomb. The wickets of Soumya Sarkar (22) fell on the total of 67, Tauheed Haddouy (19) on the total of 96 and Afif Hussain (1) on the total of 97.

There was little excitement in the match after the fall of 5 wickets for 97 runs, but from here Mehdi Hasan played an inning of 19 runs in 16 balls and supported the opener Liton Das (42) very well and scored unbeaten 40 runs for the sixth wicket. By forming a partnership, both of them gave a historic victory to Bangladesh.
