Asian Games Medal Table 2023: India created history on the eighth day of the 2023 Asian Games being played in Hangzhou, China. On Sunday, October 1, India won a total of 15 medals. With this, India won the maximum number of medals in a single day of the Asian Games. Earlier in the 2010 Asian Games, India had won 11 medals in one day.
India now has 53 medals in eight days. This includes 13 gold, 21 silver and 19 bronze medals. India is at fourth place in the latest medal table i.e. medal tally. Whereas China is at number one with 243 medals. China has so far won 132 gold, 72 silver and 39 bronze medals.

India lost to China in the final, got silver in badminton
Indian men’s badminton team missed out on creating history. He had to face defeat in the gold medal match against China and had to be content with the silver medal. India made a great start in this event and registered an excellent win in the first 2 matches. After this, China made a comeback and defeated India by winning the next three matches.
Jyoti Yaraji won bronze medal
India’s Jyoti Yaraji won silver medal in 100 meter hurdle race. However, earlier she was in third place. Then it seemed that Jyoti would have to be satisfied with bronze, but after the disqualification of the Chinese athlete, Jyoti’s medal was changed from bronze to silver.
Savita Punia won bronze medal

Tajinderpal Singh Toor won gold in shot put
Tajinderpal Singh Toor of India did wonders in short put i.e. shot put. He has won the gold medal in the Asian Games for the second consecutive time. Earlier, Tajinder had also won a gold medal in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
Avinash Sable won gold in steeplechase
India’s Avinash Sable created history in 3000 meter steeplechase. Avinash gave India its first gold medal in athletics in the 2023 Asian Games. He took a time of 8:19:53 minutes.
World champion Nikhat Zareen’s defeat in the semi-finals
Hopes of gold in boxing have been dashed. Star female boxer Nikhat Zareen has lost in the semi-finals. He had to be satisfied with the bronze medal. In boxing, world champion Nikhat Zareen had to face defeat against the Thai boxer in the women’s 50 kg weight category.
