Ashwin left the ball and held the bat, reached for batting practice immediately after the victory in Mohali.

India vs Australia, 1st ODI: The 3-match ODI series between India and Australia started on 22 September from Mohali ground. Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by winning the first match by 5 wickets. A post-match video of experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who returned to the ODI team after almost 21 months, has surfaced in which he is seen practicing batting late at night in the nets.

Ravichandran Ashwin is often recognized for doing something different on the field. As soon as the match was over, he wore his pads and went straight to the middle pitch of the ground to practice. During this time, coach Rahul Dravid was also with him who played the role of a fielder. Seeing this step of Ashwin, former players Abhishek Nair and Mark Waugh, who were part of the broadcasting team present at that time, were quite surprised but they also praised it.

There is not much time left for the start of ODI World Cup 2023, so all eyes are going to be on Ashwin’s performance in the ODI series against Australia. In the first ODI match played in Mohali, he took 1 wicket in the form of Maransh Labuschagne while conceding 47 runs in 10 overs.

If Akshar is not fit, Ashwin may get a place in the World Cup team

Axar Patel was injured in the match against Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2023, due to which he has not been included in the first 2 ODIs of this series against Australia. If Akshar is not fit for the World Cup, then Ashwin is being seen as his alternative. Ashwin can also prove to be very useful for the team as a batsman in the lower order. The team announced for the World Cup can be changed without any permission till September 28.
