Rahul Bharat Nyay Yatra: Congress has announced the second phase of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. It has been named Bharat Nyay Yatra. Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi will start this journey from the north-eastern state of Manipur on January 14 and end in Mumbai on March 20.
During this journey passing through 14 states, Rahul will cover about 6200 kilometers by bus and on foot. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that this yatra will be for economic, social and political justice. In such a situation, the question now is, how much impact will this visit of Rahul Gandhi have on the Lok Sabha elections?
Congress will carry forward its old promise
Even before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had contested the elections on the issue of “justice”. Congress had announced the Minimum Income Scheme (NYAY) in its manifesto under which it was promised to give at least Rs 72 thousand to the poor family. However, people gave PM Modi another chance.
In its review after the elections, Congress found that people did not know much about the NYAY scheme. Now, the way Rahul Gandhi’s visit has been named Nyaya Yatra before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it is possible that Congress is once again going to launch its old promise of minimum income scheme.
Starting from Manipur also has meaning
During this visit, Rahul Gandhi will corner the Modi government by raising economic issues like inflation, unemployment, growing empire of some capitalists along with minimum income guarantee. Also, as the Yatra is starting from Manipur which has been troubled for almost a year, Rahul will also accuse the BJP government of communal polarization in the country.
Rahul Gandhi has undertaken Bharat Jodo Yatra on foot from Kanyakumari to Kashmir during September 2022 to January 2023. After which Congress formed governments in Karnataka and Telangana but lost the elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It remains to be seen how much of a hit Rahul Gandhi’s second visit is and will his “Nyay” card work this time?
Nyay Yatra will pass through these states
Let us tell you that this time Rahul Gandhi’s journey will be of 6,200 kilometers covering 14 states. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, this time the medium of ‘yatra’ will be bus and foot travel. He said that the Nyaya Yatra will cover the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
