Questioned in the survey that do you think that the opposition unity of Patna will break on UCC? On this, 48 ​​per cent people said that yes the opposition unity would break, while 31 per cent people replied in the negative. According to the survey, 21 percent people said that they cannot say anything.

In fact, on June 23, a meeting of opposition parties was held in Patna, Bihar, hosted by JDU leader Nitish Kumar. Many leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former President Rahul Gandhi, TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attended it.

What did the opposition parties say on UCC?
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that PM Modi is thinking of inciting communal feelings and winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by creating confusion in the country by making statements on UCC. TMC MP Derek O’Brien said that the central government has not been able to fulfill the promise of providing jobs, due to which it is raising the issue of UCC.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had said that through UCC the Modi government wants to divert attention from its failures. On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena said that mere opposition to ‘Sharia’ cannot be the basis of UCC. Sandeep Pathak, general secretary of Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, said that his party supports the UCC in principle.

What did PM Modi say?
PM Modi had said in BJP’s program in Bhopal that the opposition party is provoking people for vote bank regarding UCC. Explain that the Law Commission has sought views from people and religious organizations on the Uniform Civil Code.
