Why did the Indian Army not give ‘Guard of Honor’ to Agniveer Amritpal Singh? Now tell me the reason yourself

Death of Agniveer Amritpal Singh: 19 year old Amritpal Singh of village Kotli Kalan in Mansa district of Punjab had joined the army as Agniveer. He was posted in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. On October 11, he was shot by his own rifle and died.

According to news agency PTI, Amritpal Singh was cremated with state honors on Friday (October 13) in his native village Kotli Kalan. Army soldiers also participated in the funeral. However, a ‘Court of Inquiry’ has been constituted to find out the reality of the matter.

Indian Army expressed condolences
While sharing the post on social media, the Indian Army has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved brave family of Agniveer Amritpal Singh.

Amritpal’s body reached the village in a private ambulance.
Agniveer’s mortal remains were brought to the village in a private ambulance hired by his unit. The jawan along with a junior commissioned officer and 4 other ranks reached the village with the dead body in an ambulance. The Army said, ‘As per the current policy, ‘Guard of Honor’ was not provided to Agniveer Amritpal Singh.

Used to do farming with his father before joining the army.
Amritpal Singh was the only son of his parents. Amritpal Singh, who belonged to a middle class family, used to help his father in farming before joining the army. He was fond of tractors.

Amritpal Singh’s sister lives in Canada
According to media reports, Amritpal Singh had joined the Indian Army on 10 December 2022. Amritpal Singh’s sister lives in Canada. Father Gurdeep Singh says that Amritpal had taken leave for his niece’s wedding. Sister living in Canada and Amritpal Singh were going to come home together.
