Congress leader Shashi Tharoor: Congress party leader and Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor has arrived in Mizoram for three days to campaign for the candidates. Meanwhile, on Saturday (4 November 2023), Tharoor was seen dancing on a stage in Aizawl, Mizoram.
Shashi Tharoor and Mizoram Congress President Lal Sawta were seen dancing to the folk songs of Mizoram at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl. The video of the dance has been posted by news agency PTI. According to PTI, Tharoor was dancing to the song Di Ruk Te (Secret Crush) by popular Mizo singer Sangatei Khuptong. Sangatei Khuptong was also present on the stage along with Shashi Tharoor.
‘Never had this much fun before’
Before the dance, Tharoor asked singer Sangatei Khuptong the meaning of the song. Explaining its meaning, the singer asked Shashi Tharoor whether you have a secret crush? After this Tharoor said, “Yes why not, of course.” Shashi Tharoor told the singer, “You are amazing, in my 15 years of political journey I have never had so much fun in any election campaign.”

‘Congress government will be formed in Mizoram’
During a press conference in Mizoram, Tharoor said that his party is going to form the government in the state. He said that this will be the first time after 2014 that Congress will form the government in any northeastern state.
He said, “Congress will oppose one country, one language, one code and one culture. We are against uniformity. We believe that unity can be achieved only by maintaining diversity.” During this time he also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party. Tharoor said, “They have also failed to fulfill their promises since 2014, be it Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s bank account or 2 crore jobs.”
