Inauguration of Ram Temple: BJP is running a nationwide ‘Swachh Teerth’ cleanliness campaign to commemorate the consecration of the idol of Lord Ramlala in Ayodhya’s Ram temple on January 22. On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders are participating in this campaign which will run from January 14 to January 22.

During this campaign, BJP leaders are donating labor for cleaning the temples and surrounding areas. Till now, many Union Ministers and leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have contributed to the Swachh Teerth Abhiyan in different temples. On January 12, PM Modi took part in the cleanliness campaign at Shri Kalaram Temple in Nashik, Maharashtra. PM Modi will also participate as the host in the Pran Pratistha ceremony to be held in Ayodhya.

Congress has distanced itself from the Ram Mandir function. The top leadership of Congress has rejected the invitation to attend Pran Pratistha. The party says that BJP is consecrating the incomplete temple because of elections.
