Sanjay Singh on Sakshi Malik: The Union Sports Ministry has suspended the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). Regarding this, Sanjay Singh said that when the new federation was formed, he (Brijbhushan Singh) was sent away and Sakshi Malik also announced his retirement. In such a situation, both the people should let the Sangh run peacefully.
While talking to news agency ANI, Sanjay Singh said that both of them have retired, so now both of them should let the federation run in peace. He said, “He (Brijbhushan Singh) and I are from different communities, so how can we be relatives? When he was the president of the federation, I was the joint secretary. So, there was a relationship and friendship between us at that time.”
Sports Ministry canceled the elections
It is noteworthy that Sanjay Singh was recently elected the new president of the federation after winning the WFI elections. However, the Sports Ministry canceled these elections. Along with this, newly appointed president Sanjay Singh was also suspended. In this election, Sanjay Singh, close to Brij Bhushan Singh, was elected President of WFI.
Sakshi Malik expressed concern
As soon as Sanjay Singh became the president, the Wrestling Association decided to hold the Junior National Championship in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. After this, wrestler Sakshi Malik expressed concern about this decision and said that I am upset since last night. Junior women wrestlers are calling me and telling me that Junior National Championship is to be held from 28th and the new wrestling federation has decided to organize it in Gonda.
Violation of the provisions of the WFI Constitution
After the decision of the wrestling association, the Sports Ministry immediately came into action and suspended WFI and Sanjay Singh. The Sports Ministry said that the decision of the wrestling association is a violation of the provisions of the WFI and the National Sports Development Code. Besides, the provisions of the WFI constitution have also not been followed.
