West Bengal Panchayat Election 2023: Nomination papers are being scrutinized in view of the three-level panchayat elections to be held in West Bengal on July 8. Meanwhile, reports of violence are coming from the state. On Saturday (June 17), there was a clash between TMC and BJP workers.
Meanwhile, the convoy of Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik was also allegedly attacked in the Cooch Behar district. Nisith was going towards the BDO office of Pramanik Sahebganj. The scrutiny of nomination papers was going on in the BDO office.

The allegations of attack on Nisith Pramanik have been rejected by the ruling Trinamool Congress. According to news agency ANI, Union Minister of State Nisith Pramanik said, “There is anarchy in the state. An arrow hit our vehicle. Bombs are being thrown. Law and order are being violated. All this is happening in front of the police. We cannot go ahead (by barricading). TMC MLA is sitting in the BDO office. How can an MLA sit there? Nomination papers should be scrutinized under the supervision of central forces.

West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar said, “A bomb was hurled at Nisith Pramanik’s car. Police is unable to do anything. Udayan Guha is standing there with his goons, at least one to one and a half thousand people are standing there. Form B is being snatched from the hands of our workers… The Election Commission and the district administration are sitting silently.
Majumdar further said, “If such an attack happens on a Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, then we can say what is the law and order situation of West Bengal. Is Mamta Banerjee running the state or is she doing drama?

At the same time, regarding the incident, TMC leader and North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha said that BJP is inciting its workers to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the state. According to the news agency PTI, during the filing of nomination papers for the Panchayat elections to be held in West Bengal, five people lost their lives and many others were injured in the violence at many places.
