The special focus of the meeting was on Pasmanda Muslims, the most backward and socially oppressed among the Muslim community.

‘Government will start more welfare schemes for Muslims’

During a public meeting held near the helipad in Karimnagar city, PM Modi said that his government will launch more welfare schemes for Muslims in the education and health sectors based on the recommendations of the Sachar Committee. He also said that you should also tell the community about all the scholarships that the central government is providing to minority students.

He also mentioned that outreach programs with the Muslim community are going well in Telangana but Pasmanda Muslims should be given top priority.

BJP will focus on Pasmanda Muslims

In his efforts to expand his reach to the Pasmanda community, PM Modi also called on Muslim leaders to dispel the perception that his government discriminates against Muslims in providing benefits of welfare schemes. During the BJP National Executive Committee meeting in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister directed BJP leaders to focus on Pasmanda Muslims and make efforts for their upliftment.

Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath have criticized Muslim quota

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had criticized the BRS government for continuing religion-based reservation for Muslims. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also given a statement that if he comes to power, he will end 4 percent Muslim reservation.

BRS had won 88 seats in the last elections.

Meanwhile, elections for 119 assembly seats of Telangana are going to be held on 30th November. The Joint Action Committee of Muslim organizations has announced to support Congress in this election. This is also being seen as a big setback for the KCR government. Talking about the last elections, KCR’s BRS had won 88 out of 119 seats, Congress 19, AIMIM 7 and BJP 1.
