Pakistan Afghanistan match: An alleged video taken during the cricket match played between Pakistan and Afghanistan at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Monday (23 October) is going viral on social media. In this video, a Chennai Police employee is shown snatching the tricolor from a spectator. It has been alleged that the policeman stopped the fan from taking the tricolor to the stadium and snatched his flag.

This video going viral on social media is from outside the stadium. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter. Chennai Police issued a statement regarding the viral video saying that the police officer has been recalled from the control room. Action will be taken against the policeman as per law. At the same time, the police also say that apart from this video, no one else has made any such complaint. During the match, it was seen that the spectators were carrying the tricolor and also displaying it.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K. Annamalai criticized the police for allegedly stopping him from carrying the Indian flag. He said, “The police outside the stadium did not allow fans to carry the Indian flag in today’s match. Who gave this right to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA)?

He wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “We demand the strictest action against the police officers for insulting our national flag and DMK should apologize to the people of the state. If this is not done, the Tamil Nadu unit of BJP will be forced to protest against the corrupt DMK government for insulting the sanctity of the tricolor.
