PM Modi in Lok Sabha: The five-day special session of Parliament has started. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha began at 11 am with the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 75 years of parliamentary journey is being discussed in both the houses of the Parliament. The central government had already released the agenda for the five-day session, in which it was told that there are four such bills which are to be introduced. Today parliamentary proceedings are going to be held in the old Parliament itself.

While addressing the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is an opportunity to remember the 75 years of parliamentary journey of the country and before moving to the new House, there is an opportunity to move forward by remembering those inspiring moments and important moments of history. He said that we are now bidding farewell to this historical building. Before independence, this house was the Imperial Legislative Council. After independence, it was recognized as the Parliament House.

The old building will inspire the coming generations

In his speech in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said that it is true that the decision to construct this building was taken by foreign rulers. But we should never forget that my countrymen had invested hard work, sweat and money in the construction of this building. He said that even if we go to the new building. But this old building will also always inspire the coming generations.

A child from a poor family reached Parliament with the power of democracy

The Prime Minister said that bidding farewell to this House is a very emotional moment. When we are leaving this House, our mind is filled with many emotions and many memories. He said that when he came to this building for the first time as an MP, he instinctively bowed his head at the door of this House and paid homage to this temple of democracy. He told that that moment was full of emotions for him.

PM Modi said that I could never have imagined. But this is the power of India’s democracy that a child from a poor family living on the railway platform reached Parliament.

600 women MPs enhanced the dignity of the House

The Prime Minister said that more than 7500 public representatives have so far contributed in both the houses. During this period, about 600 women MPs have enhanced the dignity of both the houses.
