The desire to move ahead and the glamor behind the suicide of more than 35 thousand students in three years

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment told in Parliament that during the last three years i.e. in 2019, 2020 and 2021, 35 thousand 950 students committed suicide. He told that in the year 2019, 10 thousand 335 students, in 2020 12 thousand 526 students and in 2021, 13 thousand 89 students committed suicide. In fact, in today’s competitive era, I can say that one of the main reasons for stress in children is that there is a lot of pressure on them from their parents.

The structure of our education system which is being followed even today is quite old in many states. In such a situation, so much burden is put on the children that they remain under a lot of stress. Apart from this, there is competition and immense pressure from parents. However, the Government of India has given a new education policy, in which such stress has been reduced to a great extent.

Old education system is the cause of stress

My view is that a new education policy should be adopted in all the states, which will reduce stress to a great extent. Apart from this, it is a global education, which is recognized at the international level. We ourselves have implemented the new education policy in Ranbir Singh University located in Jind, Haryana.

In this, regional languages have been especially promoted. The traditions, culture and Vedas that exist at the regional level have all been promoted so that you can study the knowledge from them. If you are knowledgeable, if you read the Vedas well or read the old scriptures, Ramayana and Mahabharata in depth, then this stress will not be so much.

Materialism is the main reason for stress dominating the youth in this way. In this fast-paced life, everyone thinks of getting ahead. In such a situation, this materialism has had a greater impact on people. At the entry level, the things that we used to hear in America earlier, today we see the same kind of cities, the same kind of hustle and bustle in Noida and Gurgaon.

race to run ahead

As competition is increasing, these stressful things seem to be dominating children. Apart from this, the way parents expect their children to become doctors and engineers is also a big factor.

My personal opinion is that whatever a child wants to do, if it is his choice, then he should be allowed to do it. For example, if someone is into sports then he should be allowed to participate in it. A major reason has been seen that the child is interested in arts and if we say that he should become a doctor or engineer, then naturally the child will come under pressure. Therefore all this should be left to the child only.

When a child passes class 10th or 12th, their wise parents ask them which course they want to take admission in. In this way, this decision should be left to that child. Pressure will be created when parents say that you have to become a doctor, or you have to become an engineer, or you have to become a CA. Whereas, the child does not want to be himself. When forced, pressure will naturally build.

Parents will also have to take care

We send our children abroad for two-three years for competition. Like according to the old tradition, whatever we used to study in our class, the good children used to pass out from it. Now children are going to Kota, new center has been built in Sikar. If parents do not stay with the children then it is possible that the children may become victims of drugs. Same thing has happened in Kota also.

Along with this, as far as schooling is concerned, there must be psychological counseling in schools. You must have seen that there are many schools, especially government schools or other small schools, where there is no counselor. There must also be a counselor. If you are getting international level education then all the facilities should also be provided.

It would also be suggested for parents to identify whatever their children have talent for. Every child definitely has some skill. No matter what kind of talent it is, those children should be allowed to do the same kind of work. So that there will be no pressure on those children.

Government launched many schemes

Today, to ensure that there is not too much pressure on children, many schemes have been launched, such as startups. By doing any computer course you can easily earn good money. There are many such schemes of the government and also outside, which we can easily earn 10-15 thousand rupees sitting at home by doing them online on the computer. Adopt such skill based subjects. The government has also done the same thing that people should choose their subjects according to their skills.

Apart from this, there are many schemes from the government for such children who are talented but face financial constraints. There are Navodaya or Kendriya Vidyalayas even in villages. Its sole purpose was that such schools were built by the government in remote areas for people who did not have money. The aim of Kendriya Vidyalaya is that small employees, if they do not have resources, can get their children admitted in such a school.

Apart from this, the government has maintained cultural schools. Especially in Haryana, one school has been built in every district. Very good teachers have been selected in it. The fees are very low and the education is very good. In this way, the government is making efforts to ensure that children get education at the village level or in far-flung areas.

We made special arrangements ourselves

There is a psychology department for such children who do not face too much stress. First of all let’s do the index program. When a new child arrives, an induction program is conducted by a counselor. Some motivators come and from them we give motivational lectures to the students.
