Bilkis Bano case verdict: Reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision on Monday (January 8) in the Bilkis Bano case, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani has expressed hope regarding the cases being fought by his organization. Maulana Madani welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court and said that this decision will set an example for the future.

The Supreme Court on Monday (January 8) canceled the Gujarat government’s decision to grant remission to 11 convicts in the gangrape of Bilkis Bano and murder of seven of her family members. The court also said that the order of the state government was passed in a trite and without thinking.

Maulana Madani has praised the Supreme Court for this decision. He said that the dignity and supremacy of the Supreme Court has once again been ensured. Also said that the confidence of common citizens, especially minorities, in the apex court will be strengthened.

‘The confidence of minorities in the Supreme Court will be strengthened’

The release further said, “This decision has once again ensured the dignity and supremacy of the Supreme Court, this will strengthen the confidence of the common citizens of the country, especially the minorities, in the Supreme Court.” There was a debate on whether the state government is authorized to do so, at that time no answer was given by the Gujarat government, but today the Supreme Court clearly said that the Gujarat government has the right to pardon and release them. Is not authorized for.

It said, “He (Maulana Madani) said that Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has been fighting countless cases and on the basis of this experience we say that now courts are the only recourse for justice. From where the oppressed can get justice. I want to congratulate those who raised this issue. Even in the atmosphere of fear and intimidation, he went to the Supreme Court and fought the legal battle with strength and got justice.

Let us tell you that the crime was committed with Bilkis Bano during the 2002 riots in Gujarat. On August 15, 2022, Bilkis’s convicts were released after remission of their sentence. The Supreme Court has ordered that the 11 convicts be sent back to jail within two weeks.
