Terrorists opened fire on 2 non-Kashmiris in Srinagar, a resident of Amritsar died

Jammu Kashmir: A terrorist attack took place in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (7 February). Terrorists shot dead a non-Kashmiri. Another person was injured in this attack.

Both are residents of Amritsar, Punjab. Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Amritpal Pal Singh (31) and the injured has been identified as 27-year-old Rohit. Rohit was hit by bullets in his stomach and is being treated at SMHS hospital.

What did the police say?
Jammu and Kashmir Police has cordoned off the area to trace the attackers. Kashmir Zone Police said that terrorists opened fire on a non-Kashmiri person in Shaheed Ganj, Srinagar and he died on the spot. He was identified as Amritpal Singh. Another person has been seriously injured.

According to news agency PTI, officials said that Amritpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, was shot by terrorists from close range with an AK rifle at around 7 pm.

Attacks on non-Kashmiris happened earlier also
Last year, terrorists had carried out several attacks on non-local workers in the valley, including Anantnag and Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first attack by terrorists on a non-local in Kashmir this year.
