Opposition MP suspended: The proceedings of both the houses of the Parliament are not going on smoothly regarding the matter of breach in the security of the Parliament. After Lok Sabha, now 45 opposition MPs from Rajya Sabha were also suspended on Monday (December 18). The suspended MPs include Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Randeep Surjewala, Ramgopal Yadav, Manoj Jha, Mahua Manjhi, Shantanu Sen, Javed Ali Khan, Ranjit Ranjan and other MPs.

While adjourning the proceedings of Rajya Sabha, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that I am bowing my head in shame that we are not respecting the sentiments of the people and their expectations. He also said that I request you with folded hands to maintain the dignity of this House.

Chairman Dhankhar said that many members are deliberately ignoring the bench. Due to disruption, the House is not functioning. Due to this, many MPs are being suspended from the House for the current session.

The MPs suspended by the Speaker include Pramod Tiwari, Jairam Ramesh, Ramnath Thakur, Manoj Jha, Ramgopal Yadav, Javed Ali Khan, Mahua Majhi, Shantanu Sen, Sameerul Islam, Faiyaz Ahmed, Ajit Kumar, Narayanbhai J. Rathwa, , KC Venugopal, Ranjit Ranjan, Randeep Surjewala, Rajni Ashokrao Patil, M Sangma, Ami Yagnik, Phulo Devi Netam, Mausam Noor, Shakti Singh Gohil, N. Shanmugham, Nasir Hussain, Imram Pratapgarhi, Anil Hegde, Jose K Mani, Sukendu Shekhar Ray, Mohammad Nadimul Haq, Abir Ranjan Bisbas, Prakash Chik Barek, NR Elengo, Dr. Kanimozhi NVA Somu, R Girirajan, Dr. V Sivadasan, Vandana Chavan. There are a total of 45 MPs including him.

Kharge expressed displeasure over suspension of Lok Sabha MPs

On the other hand, on the issue of suspension of 47 MPs from the Lok Sabha, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge says that the infiltrators attacked the Parliament first. Then Modi government is attacking Parliament and democracy. Describing the Modi government as ‘autocratic’, he said that by suspending so many MPs, all democratic norms are being thrown into the dustbin.
