Ram Temple inauguration: After 31 years, Karnataka Police makes arrest related to Babri demolition

Ram Temple and Politics: The ongoing political tussle regarding the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya is not showing any signs of stopping. The matter of not sending invitation to the opposition had not yet been resolved when a new politics has started in Karnataka on this issue. In fact, here the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (January 1) alleged that the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state is reopening old cases related to the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992.

This action is being taken deliberately before the inauguration of the temple on January 22. BJP said that two BJP workers from Hubli, who took part in the Ram Mandir movement 31 years ago, have been arrested in connection with the pending cases.

Accused of harassing Hindu activists

According to the report, the two accused whom the police arrested on Sunday are now sixty years old. Speaking to the media, Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly R Ashok alleged that the Congress was terrorizing Hindu activists by reopening cases related to the uproar that took place during the Ayodhya agitation 31 years ago. According to Ashok, the arrested people have been accused of pelting stones during the disturbance.

BJP warned of violent movement

Ashok further said, “Even I and former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa participated in that movement. Do you have the courage to arrest me and Yediyurappa? Ashok warned the government that if it adopted the politics of vengeance, it would have to pay a heavy price and the BJP would launch a fierce agitation. Condemning the arrest, he wondered why the Karnataka Congress government was investigating old cases even after 31 years of the incident. He said, “This is a matter of shame for the Congress. This shows how you want to bring Tipu culture to Karnataka.

Police said routine action

In this matter, Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka K Sukumar said that this is a regular action of police. Many times the accused remain absconding for a long time. In such cases, investigation continues and the police is on the lookout for the accused. Same thing happened in this case also. When the police got clues about these two, they were arrested.
