President approves Nari Shakti Vandan Act, 33 percent women reservation becomes law

Draupadi Murmu on Women’s Reservation Bill: Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Act) has been approved by President Draupadi Murmu. This bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on 20 September and in the Rajya Sabha on 21 September. After any bill is passed by both the houses of the Parliament, it is sent for the approval of the President so that it can become a law.

After implementation of this law, women will get 33 percent reservation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. When the bill was passed by Parliament, President Draupadi Murmu had said that it would be the most transformative revolution of our times for gender justice.
