Andhra Pradesh policeman’s suicide: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. Here on Wednesday (October 4) night, a police head constable shot his wife and two daughters dead. After this he also committed suicide by shooting himself.
The head constable has been identified as 55-year-old Venkateshwarlu. He was working as a writer (Munshi) in Cuddapah-2 Town Police Station. He had worked at the police station till 11 pm on Wednesday night and while returning home he had brought a gun and bullets with him.
There was loss in share trading
Police sources said that he was going through mental stress due to huge loss in share trading. Apart from this there were also family problems. It is being speculated that due to these reasons he first killed his wife and two daughters and then shot himself. The police investigating the case have recovered a suicide note from his house.
What did the police say?
“Venkateshwarlu worked till 11 pm last night (Wednesday) and left for his home with a pistol and some bullets from the police station,” Kadapa Sub Divisional Police Officer Mohammad Sharif told news agency PTI.
After this, information was received that he had shot his wife and two daughters to death and then committed suicide himself. Police reached the spot and recovered all four bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
At present the matter is being investigated. Efforts are being made to understand the incident by talking to other family members. Apart from this, the mobile phone of the head constable has also been confiscated, so that possible evidence can be collected.
