Nirmala Sitharaman on PM Modi’s US visit: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit as historic for India. “It was a journey where both India and the United States redefined their partnership and took steps that would result in the greater realization of our national goals,” he said.

Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement has come to the fore at a time when the opposition parties are attacking PM Modi for his visit to America. There is constant sarcasm on this tour from the opposition. Amidst all this, Nirmala Sitharaman has now retaliated by terming PM Modi’s visit as successful. He said, “It is a matter of pride in itself for the Prime Minister to be called to address a joint session of the US Congress.”

What did Sitharaman say on getting ‘Order of the Nile’?

Nirmala Sitharaman said, “During the US visit and especially in the speech, the Prime Minister has expressed very clearly where India-US relations stand and what they can do towards the global order.” Apart from this, he has also praised PM Modi for being awarded the ‘Order of the Nile’ award, the highest state honor of Egypt. He said that this is a proud moment for India. Till now PM Modi has received the highest civilian awards from 13 countries.

PM Modi is on a state visit to Egypt

Prime Minister Narendra is now in Egypt on a two-day state visit after a three-day visit to America. This is PM Modi’s first visit to Egypt and also he is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Egypt in 26 years. On reaching Egypt, PM Modi was given a guard of honor and on Sunday he was awarded the highest state honor there.
