Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023 will be discussed in the Lok Sabha. On Tuesday (05 December), Union Home Minister Amit Shah had presented this bill in Parliament. Leaders of opposition parties on Tuesday discussed the future strategy on the bills brought by the government during the winter session of Parliament, inflation, unemployment and other issues of public interest. In the meeting held in the chamber of Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge in Parliament House, apart from Kharge, party leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien, DMK leader Tiruchi Siva were present. , Raghav Chadha of Aam Aadmi Party and ST Hasan of Samajwadi Party and some other opposition leaders participated.

On Sunday, a day before the beginning of the Parliament session, the election results of four states were declared which were disappointing for the opposition. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, while Congress has won in Telangana. The Congress had on Monday said that it will oppose the bills brought in the current winter session of Parliament to replace three criminal laws, the Election Commissioner Bill and the move to expel Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.

Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh had also said that the economic situation of the country and the situation on the border should be discussed in this session. In the all-party meeting held last Saturday under the chairmanship of Defense Minister and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha Rajnath Singh, Trinamool Congress leaders had demanded a discussion on the Ethics Committee report in the Lok Sabha before taking any decision to expel Moitra from the House. .
