Wrestler sexual harassment case: The hearing in the wrestler sexual harassment case was held on Saturday (16 September) in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. BJP MP and former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was also present in the court.

During the hearing in the court, Delhi Police said that the monitoring committee has not acquitted MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The committee had given recommendations, not a decision. Delhi Police will continue the debate on the allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on September 23. The next date of hearing has been fixed for September 23.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh accused of sexual harassment

Female athletes have accused Brijbhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. Famous wrestlers of the country including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat had protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding the arrest of the BJP MP.

Charge sheet was filed in June

Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet against Brij Bhushan Singh in the month of June under Section 354A (sexual harassment) and several others. Earlier on September 1, during the hearing of the case, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had also appeared in the court.

Court had granted bail to Brijbhushan Singh

In this case, the court had granted bail to Brij Bhushan Singh in July with some conditions. While granting bail, the Metropolitan Court directed the accused not to leave the country without its prior permission and not to give any inducement to the witnesses in the case.
