‘During the raid in Bengal, 800 to 1000 people attacked, ran away with mobiles, laptops and cash’

ED officers attacked in West Bengal: The investigating agency made a big claim regarding the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Friday (January 5). ED said that our team was attacked by 800 to 1000 people. During this, the attackers looted mobile, laptop and cash.

ED said, “ED was searching 3 premises of North 24 Parganas TMC convenor Shahjahan Shaikh in the West Bengal PDS scam case.” During the search, the ED team and CRPF personnel were attacked in a complex by 800-1000 people with the intention of killing them, because these people were armed with weapons like sticks, stones and bricks.

ED further said, “Three ED officers have been seriously injured in this incident.” The injured ED officers are being admitted to the hospital for treatment. The violent mob also snatched/looted/stole personal and official belongings of ED officers like mobile phones, laptops, cash, wallets etc. Some ED vehicles were also badly damaged.
