Maharashtra drug consignment seized: Maharashtra Police has exposed a big case of drug trade. Police raided the pharmaceutical company ‘Aanchal Chemical’ in Khopoli of Raigarh district and seized MD drugs worth Rs 107 crore. Three drug smugglers have also been arrested in this case. During police interrogation, he revealed the addresses of many other places where drugs were hidden. Police raided that warehouse and seized 174 kg of MD drugs worth Rs 218 crore in the international market. Police have seized drugs worth Rs 325 crore in both the operations.
According to Raigarh Police, a few days ago a raid was conducted in a pharmaceutical company named “Aanchal Chemical” in Khopoli in Raigarh district. In this case, the three drug smugglers Kamal Jaiswani, Mateen Shaikh and Anthony Kurukutikaran have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985 (NDPS Act).
All three accused were sent to police custody till 14 December
Inspector General of Police, Konkan Range of Maharashtra Police, Praveen Pawar said that the three accused were presented in the court, where they were sent to police custody till December 14. Only after the accused in police custody gave information about the drugs hidden by the company, the police recovered the second big consignment of 174 kg. IG said that the value of both the consignments of recovered drugs in the international market has been estimated at Rs 325 crore.
Used to prepare fake documents for supply to other countries
According to Raigarh Police Officer, it is suspected that the drugs found in this warehouse were kept for the last 2 months. The accused used to supply drugs to different countries from Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Trust, Navi Mumbai by preparing fake documents. The police is now busy finding out how many consignments of drugs the accused have supplied to which countries and where the drugs have been hidden.
