‘Do you want to do a PhD on that subject?’ Sanjay Raut said about the restoration of Rahul Gandhi’s membership

Rahul Gandhi defamation case: Congress leader and former president Rahul Gandhi got relief from the Supreme Court in the Modi surname case. Now politics has started regarding his membership of Parliament. Rajya Sabha MP of Shiv Sena (UBT) Sanjay Raut has taken a jibe at Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

He said, “The government is scared of Rahul Gandhi and is getting scared. Immediately after the decision of the Surat court, the Speaker suspended him and expelled him from his house. The Supreme Court put a stay on that decision. Today it has been three days since that decision but the speaker is saying that he has to study. Did you study before being removed? What are you doing today? Do you want to do PhD on that subject?”

Sanjay Raut is demanding cancellation of disqualification

Earlier, Sanjay Raut had said on Friday (August 04), “After the decision of the Supreme Court, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha should cancel the disqualification of Gandhi (for the membership of Parliament). His disqualification as a Lok Sabha member was a premeditated move with the ‘objective’ of throwing him out of Parliament because of the kind of attacks Rahul Gandhi had been making against the BJP-led government for the last two years.”

Raut claimed, “I do not understand why Rahul Gandhi was convicted (by the trial court in Surat). What did the High Court do? The High Court should have taken a stand on this decision but no court in Gujarat is concerned with the Constitution and justice. Shiv Sena is an ally of the UBT Congress.
