Destruction due to heavy rains in Mumbai, three-storey building collapsed in Vile Parle area, two people died

Mumbai building collapse: Sunday (June 25) was a day of accidents for Mumbai. Here first a three-storey building collapsed in Ghatkopar. After this, the ground-plus-three-storey building collapsed near Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle area in the afternoon. Five people trapped in the building were pulled out and sent to Cooper Hospital. Two people have died in this accident.

BMC said that two people named Priscilla Misouita (65 years) and Robbie Misouita (70 years) were declared brought dead by the doctors. The condition of other injured people is stable. Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mumbai Police are present on the spot. Monsoon rains have started in Mumbai. After which waterlogging has also been seen in many areas.

A three-storey building collapsed in Ghatkopar as well.

Earlier on Sunday morning, a part of a three-storey residential building had also collapsed in Ghatkopar area. During this, four persons were taken out from the third floor. A fire official said that two persons are still trapped on the first floor of the building and efforts are on to rescue them. He told that there is no information about any casualty in this incident.

Rain continues in Mumbai since Saturday

The official said that it has been raining heavily in Mumbai and its suburbs since Saturday. A portion of the building at Chittaranjan Nagar of Rajawadi Colony in Ghatkopar collapsed at around 9.30 am. After getting the information of the incident, personnel of Fire Department, Municipal Corporation and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had reached the spot.

Personnel of companies supplying electricity and gas in the area have also been called on the spot. On this accident, Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha told news agency ANI that a part of a building collapsed in Ghatkopar. Four people have been rescued safely and two people are still trapped inside, rescue work is going on.
