Delhi Police lacks vehicles for G20, now asking officials to return
G20 Summit in Delhi: Preparations are going on in full swing for the G-20 meeting in New Delhi. This time under the chairmanship of India, this meeting is going to be held during 9-10 September. The Delhi Police is going to play an important role in this meeting regarding security and other things, but the surprising thing is that the police department does not have enough vehicles for the G-20.
Delhi Police has summoned its officers, who have had police vehicles parked for a long time. Delhi Police has asked the officers to send the vehicles back soon. Along with this, the department has been asked to stop giving petrol and diesel to such vehicles. This order of the Delhi Police Department is for those vehicles which are being used elsewhere instead of running in the district or department in which they were allotted.
Guests will reach by 8th September
Preparations for this conference to be held at Pragati Maidan in the capital Delhi are going on since last year. Most of these have been completed and the rest are going to be completed soon. Recently, PM Modi had inaugurated the newly built complex of Pragati Maidan.
Heads of state and delegations of all member countries and representatives of institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will reach Delhi by September 8 for the conference. Strict arrangements have to be made for the security and movement of these special guests, in which the Delhi Police will play the most important role.
Preparation for ban on traffic for 5 days
During the program, movement of vehicles can be banned in Delhi for 5 days. According to sources, Saturday and Sunday are falling during the G-20 summit which runs from 8 to 10. There is Janmashtami on 7th. In such a situation, it is being planned that restrictions should be implemented from 6 onwards, which will continue till Monday.
