List of Congress candidates: The Congress party released the first list of its candidates for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh on Sunday (October 15). Elections will be held in all three states this year and the results will be declared in December. The party has released a list of 144 candidates for Madhya Pradesh, 30 for Chhattisgarh and 50 for Telangana. Apart from these three states, there are also elections in Rajasthan and Mizoram, but Congress has not released its list yet.
After the release of the first list of its candidates by the Congress, all eyes are fixed on those seats which are being called VIP seats. The reason for this is that the Chief Minister and former Chief Minister of Congress and some big leaders of the party are contesting elections on these seats. The party hopes that it will get an easy victory on these seats, which will pave the way for it to form government in all the three states. In such a situation, let us tell you about these VIP seats from where veteran Congress leaders are contesting the elections.
VIP seat of Madhya Pradesh
In the list released by the Congress Party, Chhindwara seat of Madhya Pradesh has been considered as a VIP seat. The reason for this is that former Chief Minister of the state Kamal Nath is contesting elections from here. He reached the assembly after winning the elections from here. BJP has given ticket to Vivek Bunty Sahu from this high profile seat. In the last assembly elections, Vivek had lost to Kamal Nath by 25 thousand votes.
VIP seat of Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is going to contest elections from Patan assembly seat. Baghel, the Chief Minister of the state, has been MLA from here thrice. He had won this seat in the last elections by 28000 votes. Apart from this VIP seat of Chhattisgarh, Ambikapur is one such seat which is being discussed a lot. Congress has given ticket to Deputy CM TS Singh Deo from this seat. In the last election, TS Singh had won here by 40 thousand votes.
VIP seat of Telangana
There are three VIP seats in this state of South India for which Congress has announced the names of candidates. The first in this is Andole assembly seat, from where Congress has given ticket to C. Damodar Raja Narasimha. This assembly seat of Telangana is reserved for SC candidates. Narasimha has been the Deputy CM of United Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, he is also a big Dalit face in the state. In August itself, he was made a member of the Congress Working Committee.
The second VIP seat of Telangana is Madhira Assembly, from where Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has been given the ticket. This seat is also reserved for SC candidates. Vikramark is the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and has been MLA from this seat thrice. Congress has given him the ticket from here because he is a big face of the party, who is responsible for collecting Dalit votes. He can also join the CM race.
