Election Commission of India: Congress leaders Salman Khurshid, Ajay Maken, Jairam Ramesh, Revanth Reddy reached the Election Commission on Wednesday (October 25). Here he filed a complaint against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Regarding this, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, “We have made eight complaints.”
What complaints did Congress make?
- The first complaint was against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, regarding which Congress has given the first memorandum. This memorandum is regarding a statement given by the Home Minister in Chhattisgarh.
- The second memorandum is regarding the statement given by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Chhattisgarh on October 18.
- The third memorandum from the Central Government is regarding making officers in-charge of chariots and politicization of the army.
- The fourth memorandum is regarding Madhya Pradesh Minister Govind Singh Rajput. An FIR has been registered against him, action has been demanded on it.
There are four complaints regarding Telangana
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that apart from this, the remaining four complaints have been made regarding Telangana. Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “Congress has filed complaints against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for raising divisive issues to divert people’s attention.” He said, “His statement will affect the election atmosphere. Congress hopes that the Election Commission will take action on all the complaints.”
Statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah
In the election meeting in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had accused Congress of appeasement. He had targeted Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel regarding the Bemetra violence. He had said, “The Bhupesh Baghel government lynched Chhattisgarh’s son for appeasement and votes. We will bring his murderers to justice.”
After this statement of Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress had accused BJP of inciting communal tension. Also, Congress had talked about complaining about this to the Election Commission.
