Chariot catches fire due to contact with electric wires in Unakoti, Tripura, 6 dead
Tripura Fire: A chariot caught fire after coming in contact with live electric wires in Tripura’s Unakoti district. In this accident, 6 people died and 15 were injured. The police informed about this. The incident took place around 4.30 pm in Kumarghat area during the ‘Ulta Rath Yatra’ festival of Lord Jagannath.
During the festival, a large number of people were enthusiastically pulling the ‘Rath’. This chariot was made of iron. Police said that during the procession, the ‘rath’ accidentally came in contact with a 133kv overhead cable and caught fire.
Assistant Inspector General Jyotishman Das Chowdhary told news agency PTI that six people died on the spot and 15 people were injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of all is said to be serious.
