Maharashtra cabinet expansion: The cabinet expansion may happen in Maharashtra this week. CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have called a meeting of important party MLAs and ministers today. According to sources, a meeting has been called regarding cabinet expansion. Before this, the CM-Deputy CM’s meeting was held till late night.

According to sources, there is resentment among the MLAs of both the parties due to the delay in cabinet expansion. After the formation of the first cabinet last year, there has been no expansion of the cabinet in the state. At present, BJP and Shiv Sena have 9-9 ministers in the cabinet.

The first cabinet expansion took place in August last year.

In June 2022, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and BJP together formed the government. At that time only CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis took oath. After this, the first expansion of the Shinde cabinet took place on August 9, 2022 and 18 MLAs took oath as ministers, which included 9-9 MLAs from Shiv Sena’s Shinde camp and BJP.
