Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary came out in support of Mahua, wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker and made this demand

Mahua Moitra Row: The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee report recommending the expulsion of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra on charges of asking questions for money will be presented in the lower house of Parliament on Monday (December 4). Before this, the Congress MP has demanded a review of the proceedings of the committee. Congress leader in Lok Sabha and MP from Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency of Murshidabad district of West Bengal, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in this regard.

He said that the action of expulsion from the House is a big punishment. Has Standard Operating Procedure been followed in taking action against Mahua and has money trail been established regarding recovery of money?

What will be the action?

According to the agenda paper circulated by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Ethics Committee Chairman Vinod Kumar Sonkar will table the report of the committee in the House. On November 9, with a majority of six-four, the committee had accepted the report recommending the expulsion of Mahua from the Lok Sabha on charges of taking money and asking questions. If this is implemented then Mahua’s Parliament membership may be lost.

Opposition MPs are also in favor of dismissing Mahua
Let us tell you that the opposition Member of Parliament had also supported the action against Mahua. Four MPs from opposition parties voted in dissent, but Congress MP Preneet Kaur voted in favor of canceling Moitra’s membership. Parneet is suspended from Congress.

MPs have been suspended on similar charges before also
Before this, in the year 2005, membership of 11 MPs was terminated for asking questions after taking money. The winter session of Parliament is starting from Monday and will continue till December 22. Meanwhile, a decision will be taken regarding action against Mahua Moitra.

These are the allegations against Mahua
Let us tell you that Mahua Moitra’s former partner and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai had accused Moitra of taking money and asking questions in Parliament. He sent a letter to the Director General of CBI for investigation in this regard, with which he included many evidences. Based on Dehadrai’s complaint, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused Mahua Moitra of asking questions in Parliament to Hiranandani Group CEO Darshan Hiranandani ‘about cash and expensive gifts’.

He demanded Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to suspend Mahua Moitra. The Ethics Committee of Parliament has completed the investigation regarding this matter. Mahua has been interrogated. Before this, Darshan Hiranandani has accepted the allegations by giving an affidavit and has expressed his desire to become a government witness, due to which clouds of danger are looming over Mahua Moitra’s membership in Parliament.
