He said in a press conference on Friday (July 15) that the High Court is working to save BJP leaders. Now BJP has also retaliated on this.
BJP MP Saumitra Khan has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, demanding that his Lok Sabha membership should be revoked for Abhishek Banerjee’s alleged comments on the judiciary. Khan said that he will also file an FIR against Abhishek Banerjee.
Abhishek Banerjee’s allegation
Referring to Justice Rajasekhar Mantha’s decision, Banerjee said that if Subhendu Adhikari does something wrong on Twitter, then FIR cannot be registered. Abhishek said that the one who should be in jail, why is he being given security? He has made a serious allegation on BJP of indirectly supporting violence.
Banerjee said, "Antisocial people are being given protection from the High Court. This is sad. The High Court is protecting those who should be arrested. The 14 people who were attacked during the rural elections, if anyone is to be blamed, it is the High Court.
Questions were also raised on the governor and the police
He also alleged that despite his comments on how to impose Section 355 in the state and how to create a situation where it could be implemented, Subhendu Adhikari was given protection by the High Court. He also launched a scathing attack on Governor CV Anand Bose for not mentioning the attacks on 14 TMC workers and also questioned the police action.
