He has made a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) saying that 140 crore Indians are cheering for Team India. PM Modi has written, “Congratulations to Team India, 140 crore Indians are cheering for you. You play well and maintain the spirit of the game.”

PM Modi will also be present in the stadium
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will be present to watch the World Cup final match between India and Australia to be hosted by India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will also join him. Whereas apart from the Chief Ministers of eight states, more than 100 VIP guests will attend the Narendra Modi Stadium to watch this great match.
Before PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders have congratulated Team India for victory.

The Indian team has played a total of 19 matches at this ground in Ahmedabad from 1984 to 2023, in which Team India won 11 times and lost eight times. Australia has played 6 matches on this ground so far and has won 4 of them. Whereas had to face defeat in two matches.
India has defeated Australia in this ground before also
The match between India and Australia has taken place three times before on this ground in Ahmedabad. The two teams clashed here for the first time in October 1984 in which Australia registered a spectacular victory by seven wickets. However, just two years later in 1986, both the teams were face to face again in which the Indian team avenged the defeat by defeating Australia by 52 runs. The last match between India and Australia on this ground took place in March 2011. Even then the Indian team was successful in registering victory by five wickets. Now the fourth match is going to take place.
World Cup 2023 started in this stadium
World Cup 2023 started from 5 October. This tournament of 10 teams has been very exciting. The first match of the World Cup between England and New Zealand was held at Narendra Modi Stadium and the same is happening in the final match between India and Australia.
Apart from India, teams from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka have participated in the World Cup. Today, the eyes of the whole world are on the final match between India and Australia.
