Usually players make their debut in ODI format and then get a chance to play Test cricket.  However, this was not the case with Kaif. Kaif got a chance to play with his role models.  He considered Mohammad Azharuddin and Sachin Tendulkar as his ideals.  When he made his debut in the year 2000, both these players were part of it. Kaif played for three teams in domestic cricket.  He was associated with the Uttar Pradesh team till the year 2014.  He left the captaincy of Uttar Pradesh in 2014 and joined Andra Pradesh team.  Here also he was the captain.  In the 2015-16 season, he joined Chhattisgarh and remained associated with the team there as a player and mentor.  (Getty Images)
