Tamil Nadu News: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to ban mobile phones inside temples. The bench has given this order to maintain the purity and sanctity of the temples in the state. Let us tell you that there is already a ban on carrying mobile phones in most of the big temples of the country.
The Madurai High Court, while hearing a petition, ordered the Tamil Nadu government to ban mobile phones in temples in the state. The purity and sanctity of the temples will be maintained. In fact, Thiruchendur Archakar Sitharaman of Thoothukudi district had filed a petition in the Madras High Court last month. Even before this, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court had directed in the second week of November that the use of mobile phones should be banned inside the temple of Sri Subramaniam Swamy in Tiruchendur.
This problem is caused by mobile
The petitioner had said in his petition that due to mobile phones in the temples, there is a security threat. Along with this, some priests, security personnel and devotees who come to visit, take pictures of the inside of the temple and make it viral. Devotees start taking selfies inside the temple, because of this the crowd sometimes becomes uncontrollable. Along with this, many types of problems come due to mobile phones. Therefore, the use of cell phones should be banned inside the temple.
The temple is not a center of tourist attraction
Justice R. Mahadevan and Justice J. Satyanarayan Prasad’s bench said in its decision that the temples are not the center of tourist attraction. Please tell that in the temples of Tamil Nadu, visitors are not allowed to wear modest clothes like T-shirts, jeans, shorts, leggings etc.
Earlier, the Madras High Court asked the state government to strictly implement the laws and policies made against sexual exploitation of children. Along with this, said that proper action is not being taken on the cases of sexual harassment in educational institutions.
