Why Rambutan fruit is in discussion amid Nipah outbreak
In fact, in the year 2021, a 12-year-old child died in Kerala. Then it was said that his death was due to eating Rambutan fruit. However, in September 2021, it was revealed that the child had died due to Nipah infection. According to reports, this was the first such case in Kerala after the virus outbreak was reported and controlled from the same district in May 2018. Then 17 people died due to this. It was from here that the threat of Nipah increased in Kerala. This is the reason why once again this fruit has come into discussion. People are afraid to eat it. However, this fruit was tested at the Institute of Virology of Pune, which found that Nipah virus was not found in this fruit.
