After a big defeat in Adelaide, West Indies made a strong comeback in the day-night test played at Brisbane (Gabba) and after 27 years, achieved the feat of winning the test match on Australian soil and the hero of the victory was 24 year old Shamar Joseph.

On the fourth day of the Brisbane Test, Australia needed 156 runs to win while West Indies needed 8 wickets. After this, as soon as Shamar Joseph came to bowl on the fourth day, the host Kangaroo team was stunned and he took a total of 7 wickets and gave his team a historic victory by 8 runs.

Shamar Joseph dismissed 7 players for just 68 runs in a spell of 11.5 overs and the Australian team was bundled out for 207 runs.

Let us tell you that till two years ago no one knew Shamar Joseph and he used to work as a security guard but then his luck took a turn. First he was seen playing in the Caribbean League and now he got a chance to debut against Australia and he Won the Man of the Series award in his very first series.

In the match, West Indies, playing first, scored 311/10 in the first innings with the help of 71 runs from Kavem Hodge and 79 runs from Joshua Da Silva. In reply, Australia scored the first 289 runs with the help of Usman Khawaja’s 75 runs and Alex Carey’s 65 runs.

After trailing by 22 runs in the first innings, West Indies scored 193/10 in the second innings with the help of Crick McKenzie’s 41 runs and gave the target of 216 runs to the Kangaroo team. In response to which the Australian team collapsed for 207 runs.
