What was the struggle to get your first film?
“I don’t believe in struggle.. Waking up in the morning to go to college or traveling in the metro and there is a crowd, it is not a struggle, it is a normal life. Regarding getting his debut film Punchlight, Puneet says that he got the offer when he was doing theater in Delhi. He says, earlier this film was given to another actor but some coincidence happened that I got the film.

After studying journalism, how did you come towards acting instead of becoming a journalist?
Puneet told that it was necessary for him to stay in Delhi to do theater and he had to convince his parents to stay in Delhi. Puneet knew that his parents would not agree to the theatre. In such a situation, Puneet took admission in the course of Journalism in Jamia Millia Islamia and during this time he continued to do theater in JNU. He said that after completing his studies in journalism, his family felt that he would become an anchor, but Puneet insisted on theater and persuaded his parents with great difficulty.

Every artist has an ideal actor or director with whom he wants to work, do you have any such ideal?
“I want to work with Naseer Sahab (Naseeruddin Shah). My first choice as a director would be to work with Rajkumar Hirani who made 3 Idiots. I still remember that this movie had a lot of influence in my life when I passed 12th…its song was Give Me Some Sunshine Give Me Some Rest. I want to work with Anurag Kashyap, Vikram Motwani and Sanj Leela Bhansali. There are also some good story tellers whose story I would like to be a part of. ,

Tell us about your experience in ‘Chhatriwali’.
I had a big role in ‘Chhatriwali’, but it got cut at the edit level. Because a similar film had come and was released in public interest, it also had the story of a female condom tester. So it was better to edit for the film. That was fine. I am living my journey.

Share an anecdote about your work experience.
“I have done a film with Tejas sir, the director of ‘Chhatriwali’. Emraan Hashmi is in the lead of the film. Emraan Hashmi has been a childhood hero. When I was in 11th class in 2007, I used to sing songs of Himesh Reshammiya and Emraan Hashmi. When Sir met Emraan Hashmi on the set, while taking a selfie, I told him that Sir, I want to say one thing. Your films have made us young. So he blushed a little and said that while making you people young, I have become old.

Like you have been Sandeep Bhaiya’s supportive roommate in the series, have you had any such roommate in real life?
“Yes, I have many friends who have done a lot for me. Make such friends in your life where you do not have to see debit-credit. I think I am very lucky in this case, in such difficult circumstances when you have nothing, then such a friend is standing with you who is like Prince Mishra.

Tell us something about your upcoming projects.
“I have a dream project that I have written a series on my school on which I want to make a show. This is the story of my school. Which my school has suffered.
